The object of education is to prepare the young
to educate themselves throughout their lives.
Robert Maynard Hutchins
I have had the honor of teaching social studies at Patrick Henry High School since 1999 and am excited to begin my 18th year with you. My passion lies in inspiring students to engage in the political process and use knowledge of history to improve the world. Because the world is run by those who show up, my number one goal is to help students strengthen the knowledge and skills necessary to access power in its many forms so that they may be active, "loving critics" within our society and our interdependent world.
For the 2016-2017 school year, I teach the 11th grade International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme Group 3: Higher Level History course as well as one section of Middle Years Programme African American History course. I will also continue supporting academic programming at PHHS as the coordinator of the Patrick Henry International Baccalaureate Career-Related Programme, the newest addition of IB continuum of opportunities available at Patrick Henry.
I look forward to working with you this year! Feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns at email@example.com or at 612--668-1950.
