Tennis Team Shines in District Tournament
There are 6 flights (levels) at the Minneapolis Doubles Tournament held on May 12th. Usually Washburn, South, and Southwest play the first 3 flights and other District Teams make up the remaining categories. Henry finished at the top of Flights 4 - 6.

An excerpt from the Minnpost.com article by Beth Hawkins: Perhaps best described as Minneapolis’ sleeper success, Patrick Henry has made other “best” lists. It’s small, has had IB for a number of years, and boasts high-tech classes as challenging as much of what’s on offer at your local community college.
I got to tour the north Minneapolis campus last fall with Sen. Al Franken and we watched high-poverty math and engineering students figure out vectors, R values, the Pythagorean theorem and lots of other stuff that’s above my pay grade. The future of our state’s economy is being cooked up in Henry’s halls.
Kong Lee '13 and Looney Tunes Crowned at Madtown Showdown
Kong Lee and his brother Kou '10 led Looney Tunes to victory and a $600 Grand Prize in an international dance competition featuring the best break dance teams in the world at the campus of the University of Wisconsin at Madison.
During the past school year Looney Tunes has placed or won similar international dance competitions in St. Louis and Orlando. Looney Tunes will next compete again in the Fall in Houston and Boston. See Looney Tunes video here.
Tim Gill '12 To Star in All Star Game
The 19th Annual Inner City All Star Classic featuring the Metro area's top Senior Men will be Sunday, June 17th. Tim Gill '12 Kiwanis Scholar and Captain of the Men's Basketball Team leads the basketball elite. Joining Tim will be former teammate Ben Glover, who attended Henry until his sophomore year and currently attends MN Transitions.
Mr. Voek's Wins Outstanding Teacher Contest
Let's Dish a family meal program recently conducted an online campaign to recognize outstanding teachers who put forth each day to truly make a difference for every student in their school, and community. The winner of that campaign is Mr. Voeks, Math Teacher.
Antonique Martin '13 Honored at First Annual Seventh Avenue Pageant
Wayman A.M.E. Church sponsored the first Annual Ms. Seventh Avenue Pageant on Saturday, March 31st and presented Antonique Martin '13 with First Place Honors including several gifts, beautiful formal wear, a generous $250 financial offering for a scholarship, and and most importantly the opportunity to represent young women in the Wayman A.M.E. community. Chess Team Finishes in Top 30 in National Tournament
Congratulations to the Patrick Henry Chess team which competed in the National High School Chess Tournament this weekend. Our team finished in the top 30 for the nation. Team member s are Mason Couillard, Noah Wrolson, Caleb Widstrand, Van Kirwin, Tristan Reep, and Noushee Khang.
Storm Autio '12 Places in Top Three in District Competition
In the Viva City Arts Competition in early March Storm Autio won the Tracy Award along with $1,000 for his piece, Large Bird. This work is also currently on display at the District Office on commission. See other winners and their art here.

Emilia Skogen '15 Wins Northeast Bank Art Contest
Emilia Skogen '15 captured first place in the 4th Annual Whhite House Coloring Contest sponsored by Northeast Bank in conjunction with the We Love our Presidents Day event held at NE Middle School on Saturday, February 18th.

Ross is Boss at State Tournament
Sam Ross '12 finished his swimming career with a school record and a personal best at the Swimming State Tournament on Saturday in February.
Gymnasts Flip at District Meet
Emily Anderson '13 and Jessie Evans '15, placed on Floor Exercise at a District Tournament in February.
Emily placed 6th with a 6.1 and is a Captain. Jessie placed 10th with a 5.8 and is a first year gymnast.
Patriot Football Team Announces Awards at End of Season Banquet
The Patriot Men's Football Program captured the North Side Championship and the travelling trophy that goes with it with a 34 - 12 victory at North on October 7. At their Patrick Henry Football Banquet on November 20, the following awards were announced:
