Career & College Center

The goal of the of the AchieveMpls Career and College Center (CCC)Coordinator, Ms. Nou, is to assist all students with goal setting, decision making, and aid them in the successful transition from high school to post-secondary options.  Post-secondary options include any sort of training/credential you receive after high school, whether that be an apprenticeship or bachelor's degree program.

Students and visitors to the CCC can find help with the following:

  • Interests
  • Skills
  • Career Information
  • College Search—community, technical, 2-year, 4-year
  • College Research
  • College Admission Representative Visits
  • Military options
  • Scholarships
  • Financial Aid

The Career and College Center hosts:

  • College and military rep visits, a chance for students to meet with college admissions representatives and to hear more about a specific college.
  • A career day, where students explore career options by hearing from professionals working anywhere from computer technology to health care to law enforcement to writing a book.
        - Career volunteers will be presenting in a classroom setting with interested students.

  • The MnACC College Fair where students get a chance to can talk with representatives from many different colleges in Minnesota and the surrounding area. This will take place in Spring 2018.

CCC Policies & Procedures:

Check-In:  All students who enter the CCC need to type in their student ID number at the designated scanner laptop (near door).

Passes:  Students are allowed to use the CCC before school, after school, during open periods for independent college and career planning, or during class time (by appointment and with teacher permission). Since many CCC opportunities take place during the scheduled school day, teachers have the final decision regarding missed class time.

Career & College Newsletter: A bi-weekly email is ent out to students, parents, and families called which highlights events, opportunities, and information for students. For full details of career & college events and other opportunities, please visit the Career & College Newsletter webpage. 

Weekly Schedule: The weekly schedule is posted, listing Ms. Nou's availability and all events in the CCC listed for that week outside the CCC and in the newsletter.
