Ms. T Educational Talent Search Advisor in the Career and College Center

The Educational Talent Search Program is back at Patrick Henry. The Educational Talent Search is an academic support program for first generation/low income high school youths. This program is funded by the U.S. Department of Education and is sponsored by Minneapolis Community and Technical College.

ETS assists students who are:

  • low income and/or first-generation high school students
  • committed to graduating high school, pursing a education program and committed to Educational Talent Search Program requirements & activities.

ETS provide students assistance with:

    Academic, vocational & career counseling
  • Assistance to parents in matters to help students educational process
  • Information on various programs (2-4 year colleges/universities)
  • Referral & resources for ACT & GED preparation
  • Financial aid assistance
  • Scholarship assistance

If you were part of the Educational Talent Search program last year or a student who needs help in college prep material (college information, ACT help, financial aid, scholarships, etc.), please stop by and visit your ETS advisor, Ms. T in the Career & College Center, Rm. 221 for more information.

Ms. Catima Wilson, Educational Talent Search Advisor
Catima Wilson (Ms. T) is one of the newest members of the Educational Talent Search team. She grew up in St. Paul and graduated from Metropolitan State University with a B.A. in Psychology. Ms. T is passionate about supporting youth through mentoring, connecting students to college and leadership opportunities that prepare students for success. As the first person to graduate from college in her family, she plans to be a positive role model and supportive mentor to her students, while helping them with their journey through high school and on to college.   Fun Fact:  Ms. T is a veteran of the United States Air Force and spent a year in Korea volunteering as a high school basketball coach.
 
Ms. T looks forward to meeting and providing fun and exciting opportunities to new and returning students in the Educational Talent Search program.
