School Responsibilities: We, as Patrick Henry Staff, will support students’ learning in the following ways:

·         Provide high quality curriculum and instruction in a supportive and effective learning environment that enables our students to meet the State’s student academic achievement standards.

·         Hold parent-teacher conferences during which this Compact will be discussed as it relates to the individual child’s achievements

·         Provide parents with frequent reports on their children’s progress, and the overall progress of Patrick Henry.

·         Provide parents reasonable access to staff, opportunities to volunteer, chances to participate in their child’s class, and to observe classroom activities.

Parent/Guardian Responsibilities: We, as parents/guardians, will support our children’s learning in the following ways:

·         Make sure my scholar attends class at least 95% of the time and is on time.

·         Make sure my scholar’s homework is completed.

·         Make sure that my scholar is making good use of their leisure time.

·         Help/Volunteer at the school whenever possible.

·         Attend Parent-Teacher Conferences when offered.

·         Participate as appropriate  in decisions relating to my scholar’s education.

·         Encourage my scholar to participate in school sports, clubs, and activities.

·         Keep up-to-date with communications from the school and make sure I communicate my thoughts about school happenings.

·         Serve as much as possible on Patrick Henry parent organizations such as the Patrick Henry Family Involvement Group (PHFIG), Booster Club, Site Council, and District-wide groups.

Student Responsibilities: We, as students, will share the responsibility to improve our academic achievement in the following ways:

·         Attend classes daily and be on time to each class period.

·         Be respectful to PHHS staff and scholars.

·         Do my homework every day and ask for help when I need it.

·         Read at least 25 minutes everyday outside of school time and be prepared for Sustained Silent Reading each day during school time.

·         Share all notices and information I receive with my parents/guardian.

·         Participate as much as possible in school sports, clubs, and activities.

·         Stay informed by reading website and weekly newsletters.
