Holiday on 44th, December 2nd

holiday_on_44th.jpg

Holiday on 44th promotes core values of cultural respect and inclusion by showcasing artists from various cultures. By exposing the audience to varied forms of artistic expression, Holiday on 44th strives to nurture tolerance and friendships between residents. The ethnic and racial composition of Camden will change over time and it would be impossible to represent the arts of all of the ethnic groups that comprise Camden.  Every year the festival will present ethnic arts to show that diversity is valued in our community.

Artists perform in various locations along 44th Ave. N., which is closed to all automobile traffic for the evening. Horse-drawn wagons provide transportation between locations, giving the celebration a friendly and old-fashioned atmosphere. Music, magicians, fire jugglers, chestnut roasting and a fantastic craft fair make up a small portion of this diverse and exciting event that draws attendance from all over the metro area. Holiday on 44th is a FREE event.

Holiday on 44th has been produced annually by a dedicated group of volunteers in the Camden community of North Minneapolis. It uses the arts to promote understanding and friendships between the diverse peoples that make up our Camden, Minneapolis community. In addition, because the arts activities of our event has drawn more and more people to the community, an improved business climate has been noted along 44th  Avenue North.
