I teach three Project Lead the Way classes: Introduction to Engineering Design, Principles of Engineering, and Digital Electronics. I also teach a Robotics class for advanced students. My own background is in experimental physics. From work in the basic sciences I have moved into the field of engineering education. The study of science is intertwined with the study of engineering: engineering relies on the discoveries of science to further the designs of mankind, while science must use the instruments created through engineering to probe the mysteries of the universe.
Project Lead the Way offers students a unique look at the process of design and the scope of engineering presented at the high school level. These technical classes will be a great benefit to students who plan to go further with engineering, technology, or science.
