Spring IB Diploma Exams

The International Baccalaureate Organization has made an announcement for Minneapolis Public Schools regarding spring 2021 IB Diploma Exams:

In line with your local or national health and safety restrictions, Minneapolis Public Schools are considered unable to administer IB DP/CP examinations, therefore your students’ results will be awarded using coursework marks and predicted grades for the May 2021 examination session.

Here are the important things to know:

- IB Diploma and Career-Related Certificates will still be awarded to eligible students. Students registered for exams will still earn an exam score based on a combination of internal assessments and predicted grades.

- The ability to offer in-person examinations varies across the US and world due to unique local health and safety guidelines. Because of this, the IB has ensured that results from either in person or distance learning exam routes will be treated equally by colleges and universities.

Here’s what you, as a student, should do now:

- Continue to work on your coursework and any internal assessments that you have not completed. - Stay in close contact with your teacher.

- Communicate any technology needs to your teacher or IB coordinator. - Seniors, remember to stay connected with your counselor with respect to MPS graduation requirements.

We are monitoring new developments as they happen. Please feel free to reach out to your program coordinator with specific questions, and watch for more communication about the specifics of IB assessment scoring.
