The Kiss by Chase for April 19th Legacy Writer of the Year Nominee

The Kiss
I still remember the night of the kiss from the woman I miss
The skies were gray, the wind was cold but I still found bliss
For a split second all my worries were gone and you were still there
But after it I lost you, the world left me unprepared
All my fears of being alone came back in full force to me
I had died to you and I was the only one still mourning me
Horridly, I feel lost and I still find no navigation
Put my back to Satan, tears in my eyes, my past is waiting
Rather my future, as I recover from my heart’s lacerations
But the clouds of my eyes rain heavy precipitation
Because I still reminisce about the last time we kissed
You’re the one that I miss, in my dark thought’s abyss
